Description
OptiMax pumps are suitable for freshwater or marine aquariums.
These energy efficient pumps are multi-purpose, and reliable for continuous use.
The larger sizes are also flexible in that they can work as inline dry pumps or as standard submersible pumps.
The flow is controllable too, which allows for varied usage.
Extremely powerful
Top energy balance at low power consumption
OptiMax pumps uses
- Using alongside an automatic top up unit
- Running phosphate reactors
- For algae reactors
- Refilling a tank after a water change
- To run UV sterilisers
- For BioPellet reactors
- For chiller systems
- Main system return pump
Small – 500 litres per hour
The OptiMax 500 is ideal to work alongside an automatic top up unit or to power a phosphate reactor with media like RowaPhos. It can also be used to run a macro algae reactor. The 500 only works fully submerged. See below for flow rate information and product design information.
Medium – 1000 and 2000 litres per hour
These pumps are ideal for most UV sterilisers, BioPellet reactors and for using with a chiller unit. It can also be useful for toping up your aquarium with water after a water change. Bear in mind that the friction of pushing water flow through any pipework will reduce flow slightly. Also these pumps are fully controllable, allowing you to reduce the flow. This means that 2000 litres per hour is the maximum flow rate of the OptiMax 2000. You are likely to achieve a little less than this for most uses.
At a head height of 1 metre, the flow rate of a 2000 litre per hour pump drops to around 1250 litres per hour. See Oase’s flow rate charts and product design information above and below for more information.
Large – 5000 litres per hour
The largest of this range of Oase OptiMax pumps is the 5000 litres per hour pump. This is ideal for the same uses as the medium pump if you have a very large system. Or it can be used as a main system sump pump for tanks from around 500 and up to around 1250 litres in volume (depending on how high, and how fast the pump needs to move water). See flow chart above for flow rates and product design information.
Also available in the OptiMax Pump range:
- 300 litres per hour (fully submerged only)
- 800 litres per hour (wet and dry use)
- 3000 litres per hour (wet and dry use)
- 4000 litres per hour (wet and dry use)
