Description

Oase curved plant scissors can be used in both fresh and salt water tanks. They are ideal for cutting back tropical plants or for trimming marine macroalgae.

Oase is a premium brand, and these scissors last better than cheaper alternatives. Always rinse them in freshwater after use and dry them before storage.

Stem Plant Care

Cutting back stem plants with plant scissors can lead to fuller and better growth in a planted aquarium. If you notice that your stem plants are a little ‘leggy’, try cutting them at any point on the stem, then re-plant the tops amongst the existing plant bed. It is easier to use some plant tweezers to plant the stems into your substrate. This can thicken growth and lead to healthier plants. Don’t forget that plants also need the right kind of lighting. Macroalgae Care

If you own a marine aquarium, you might have a refugium with macroalgae growing in the sump. This is a great way to naturally control waste nutrients such as nitrate and phosphate. Cutting back the macroalgae little and often will encourage more growth. More growth = more waste removal! If you are trying to grow macroalgae, remember that it uses a lot of iodine to grow. It is always a good idea to test for iodine levels. If they are low, you can add more iodine to the aquarium to help your macroalgae flourish.
