Description
The Glamorca DI (Deionisation) filter makes it possible to produce a water of very high purity. It is very effective and will allow you to obtain a rate of TDS of 0. These filters are very easy to change, especially when compared to traditional RO filters.
How often should I be changing Glamorca DI (Deionisation) filters?
For best results change the Glamorca DI filter every time the reading on your Glamorca RODI machine goes from a reading of 0 to a reading of 1.
The Glamorca machine has a TDS tester built in, so will show you when it’s time to change the filter by highlighting the fifth LED light on the front of the unit. It also shows a constant readout of 0 on the front of the machine. When this starts to flicker to 1 it is time to change the filter.
The timescale of this varies depending on how good your tap water is. If your tap water has a low TDS you will not need to change it as often as an area where the TDS is very high.
Which LEDs represent which quick change Glamorca filter?
- = 5 μ micron sediment filter – change every 4 months
- = activated carbon filter – change every 6 months
- = carbon block filter – change every 6 months
- = RO membrane – change every 12 months
- = DI (deionisation) filter – change whenever the TDS is higher than 0ppm
RODI units and ICP testing
If you are changing your filters as recommended, you should have no trouble with water quality.
However, if you get behind with the filter changes, and want to double check RODI water quality, you can always use a ICP/OES test kit. Simply take a sample of the RODI water straight from the clean water pipe and send it off to be lab tested in one of the easy to use Reef Zlements ICP test kits. You will receive an extremely accurate read out of RODI water analysis.
Other notes about Glamorca DI (Deionisation) filter:
Do not use where the water is microbiologically unsafe or of an unknown quality. It is essential that operation, maintenance and filter replacement requirements be carried out as scheduled so that the system can perform to its optimum ability.
Glamorca RODI water filters are only for use to make water for aquariums.
