Description

Flow Pump Cover Nets by Oase fit most in tank flow pumps. They are especially designed for the Oase range of StreamMax Classic and Premium pumps.

Each single pack contains two black nets. Matching the colour of most flow pumps this makes them blend in to the pump and so not visually intrusive.

For Freshwater

  • Ideal if you have small shrimp or fish
  • Easy to clean
  • Collects loose plant matter instead of it getting sucked through the pump

For Marine

  • Ideal if you have any anemones

Anemones have one foot and they can go for a walk whenever they like!

It is not good news when an anemone moves too near to a flow pump. Being mostly water, with a relatively thin membrane, an anemone can easily get sucked into a pump. Unfortunately, this means that it will likely be chopped up into pieces or block the pump.

In order to protect your pump and more importantly your anemones – use one of these nets.

Flow pump cover nets are easy to use

Place the net around your pump. The smaller end has an elasticated band that straps around the front of the pump, then use the drawstring at the back of the pump to close the net around the pump intake strainers.

Rinse the net under tap water as often as needed. Most people find that once a week is enough.

Other uses

These nets can also be used as media bags.

Biological ceramic or plastic media can be easily contained in this bag.

These can be used to contain activated carbon pellets.

Should I use a flow pump in my fish tank?

Water flow in a fish tank is important to prevent dead spots. Sufficient flow helps fish waste to stay in suspension, and so the filter can work more efficiently to remove it. This, in turn discourages pest algae from growing.

Keep in mind that any obstacle in the aquarium will slow down flow (eg rock or wood). So having flow from at least two directions in an aquarium is a very good idea.

Flow pump cover nets size:

  • Front end – 5cm (closed) to 8cm (stretched open)
  • Back end – 11cm open, closes to 0cm
  • 13cm long
