Description
Glassworms are a nutritious live food suitable for almost any type of aquarium fish.
Feeding live food to your aquarium will simulate natural fish feeding behaviour and improve fish colour and health.
A glassworm is a type of larva of a midge genus called Chaoborus. They are also known as phantom midge larvae, because they are transparent. They can be found commonly in lakes all over the world and can be up to 2 cm. The adults are sometimes called phantom midges or lake flies.
Glassworms will keep for a few days if stored in the unopened bag in the refrigerator. We recommend straining the larvae through a fish net before feeding to your fish. One bag will feed a tank of around 50-100 litres but of course it depends how many fish you have and what size the fish are. Feed only what the fish can in in around 10 – 15 minutes.
