Description

Tetra Discus Granules are a premium complete food for tropical freshwater fish. These pellets are also known as ‘Tetra Prima’.

Optimally adapted to the special dietary requirements of Discus with regard to colour, shape and formula.

At Cornwall Aquarium Services Ltd, we use these slow sinking pellets alongside Vitalis Tropical Pellets to feed our mid water swimming fish. That’s because they are ideal for use with the FishGuard Automatic Feeder.

These granules are not just for Discus

The slowly sinking food suits the species appropriate feeding habits of Discus. However, this food is also ideal for fish like Angelfish, American cichlids, Rainbowfish, Barbs and deep bodied Tetras. Because it slowly sinks, bottom feeders like to clear up any that reaches the substrate. We have seen catfish like Corydoras hoover up this food with pleasure!

Fish health and colouration

  • Promotes well-being, naturally intense colouring and growth
  • Contains all essential nutrients, vitamins and trace elements

A healthy fish is a more colourful fish. Stabilised vitamin C in these granules increases resistance to disease and promotes healthy growth. the nutrients, vitamins and trace elements prevent nutrition related deficiency symptoms.

Top fish feeding tips:

  • Always replace the lid after feeding
  • Careful to only feed what the fish need in a short period of time
  • Never put wet fingers into fish food pots
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets
  • Test your aquarium water regularly to make sure that you are not overfeeding the fish*
  • Feed more if the fish look skinny!
  • Give your fish a variety of foods, dry, frozen and live to keep them happy and healthy

*We recommend testing the water weekly. For freshwater aquariums it is important to keep ammonia and nitrite at 0ppm. Keep nitrate as low as possible (under 40ppm, but ideally under 20ppm). Most fish like a pH of between 6.8 – 7.2. Check the KH levels as well to get a clear picture of what is going on with the water hardness. Discus will thrive at low levels of pH and KH.
