Description

FiltoSmart 300 by Oase is an external filter for medium to large aquariums.

The FiltoSmart 300 will filter aquariums of up to 300 litres. If your aquarium is more than 300 litres we have a full range of larger external filters in stock.

More space for your fish

Place this filter discreetly in your aquarium cabinet. All you will see in the fish tank is one pipe in and one pipe out. This gives your fish more swimming space, and you undisturbed views of their underwater world. You can retrofit an Oase heater into this external filter or if you would like a heater included with this filter click here to see the FiltoSmart Thermo 300.

Optimal footprint

This filter has a secure and sturdy base. At only 288 x 179 mm, the base is narrow enough to make room to store other fishkeeping equipment in your aquarium cabinet. If you don’t have a cabinet it will sit neatly within or beside an aquarium stand.

Complete quick start set

Includes filter media, hoses, adaptors, flow regulator, suction and discharge pipe as well as water diffuser. The water flow rate can be adjusted on the inflow and outflow adaptor. The filter includes a practical self-venting function.

Easy to clean

This filter is easy to maintain. There is an effective shut off system to isolate the pipes so that they can be left in place whilst cleaning. Plus, the EasyClick opening mechanism makes it simple to get into and to close the filter. There is a convenient carrying handle so that you can take the unit away to a sink to clean.

Economical

The FiltoSmart pump is extremely quiet and energy efficient.

Clear & healthy aquarium water

The high surface area volume of the filter foams and biological media ensure effective filtration.

Your aquarium’s life support system

When aquarium foam has a high surface area, more ‘friendly’ bacteria are able to colonise. This filter bacteria is known as denitrifying bacteria. It is important to have a healthy population growing in your filter as it helps to break down fish waste.

Run an aquarium filter 24 hours a day to keep the water quality balanced for your aquatic animals.

In order to keep you bacteria colony healthy, remember not to clean your sponges with tap water. Instead, take a small bucket of water out of the tank and gently squeeze your filter sponges in this bucket of water to remove excess waste. When topping up your tank afterwards it is important to use dechlorinator. Chlorine in tap water is designed to kill off bacteria and that’s the last thing we want to do to our aquarium filters!
